Spark�s First Annual Global Gala�The Black and Pink Ball October 2006 Spark's First Annual Gala was an enormous success! The 400 Spark members in attendance heard the inspiring stories of our honorees, Carmen Ortiz, Lornah Kiplagat and Awa'3eena, all of whom have ignited global change by empowering women in their own communities. Thanks to the generosity of our members, Spark raised $15,000 for these women, so they may continue their efforts to provide support services: for Latina women living with cancer in San Francisco, to train Kenyan girls to become world-class runners, and to teach Jordanian women the skills to run a business.
