As a volunteer-based
organization, Spark depends on its volunteers to make its
programs a success and to allow us to direct more money to
global grassroots women's organizations. Volunteer for an
organizing committee, for an event, or at one of our
co-sponsored activities with community partners. We also
have a number of opportunities for internship positions. For

Organizing Committees
Interested in participating in Spark at a more in-depth
level? Would you like to get to know the Spark board of
directors and learn how an emerging non-profit is run? Have
you thought of ideas that you would like to contribute to
Spark? Join a Spark Committee! For meeting dates and times,
email
Shannon@sparksf.org
Grants Committee: By joining the grants committee you
will have the opportunity to participate in selecting
issue-based themes for Spark to support, learn about women
around the world who are making positive change in their
communities, read inspiring grant applications and recommend
and vote on potential grant recipients.
Events Committee: The events committee is the source
of all of the fun and exciting programs and events that
Spark members enjoy. Research and recruit world leaders to
come speak to Spark, organize the Spark book club meetings,
and plan Spark's lively fundraisers for young professionals,
including Spark's Annual Black and Pink Ball.

Internships
Spark is accepting applications for two exciting internship
positions, each for approximately 5-10 hours per week. Spark
interns work closely with the organization's leadership,
including the Board and Executive Director. The internships
are ideal for college students, Bay Area newcomers, or those
trying to break into the nonprofit sector. For more details,
email
Shannon@sparksf.org
Program Intern: This intern will support the Board in
its duties, complete assignments from the Grants Committee
and attend monthly board meetings. The intern will research
potential grant recipients and advocacy opportunities, among
other tasks.
Event Intern: This intern will be required to commit
approximately 5 hours per week to assist in event planning
and fundraising. The intern will be involved in preparing
for Spark's Black and Pink Ball in October.
