Health Pilot

  • One unplanned pregnancy costs Californians about $23,175.
  • Unplanned pregnancies cost Americans $11 Billion a year.
  • Sex education costs $25 per teen.
  • Birth control can costs as little as $180 a year.

The math doesn’t add up.

We believe that young professionals care about this issue. So, we set out to prove it. We got together with a partner, ISIS, and a funder, The Leavens Family Foundation, and we launched this pilot project.

Our aim is to raise resources and awareness for women’s health in California. To date, the videos below received 120,000 YouTube views and raised over $9,000.

Our goal is to raise $20,000. Check out our campaigns below.

Sex Education

Educate 200 Teens

Deja got pregnant before her school provided state mandated sex ed. The median age for an unplanned pregnancy is 16. Like all parents, Deja is concerned for her child’s future. Educate can’t wait.

Birth Control

Help 30 women

Ann lost her job, and with it, her birth control coverage. Birth control became cost prohibitive. Soon, like many women, Ann found herself unemployed and pregnant. Join us in providing 30 low-income women with birth control for a year.

Technology

Inform 240,000 Teens

Each week, 68 million young people google “What is Sex?” Videos like this one cost $1,000 and reach 20,000 viewers a month with real time, accurate information. A $25 invesment will give answers to 500 young people.

Community Clinics

Long Term Solutions

Women need a place to get low-cost health care. Since 2011, 48 free clinics in California have closed – mostly in low-income areas. Join us in funding two policy fellows working to secure community clinics in California.
