Dear
Sister Kathy, greetings and God's Love!
It has taken sometime unfortunately contrary to my promise to furnish
you with the needed information on the status and update of
ABAHUJUMUTIMA Women. The reason was, I had to depend upon the field
sources to furnish me with the facts, so that I am only able to receive
and dispatch them today. Here below is a brief note of the status report
of the earlier disbursed funds equivalent to US$ 1,500, which since it
was obtained in the local currency in the bank (by means of Western
Union) came to: 825,000FRW. (Rwandan francs)
The breakdown of the above funds is as follows:
ITEM
-AMOUNT (Rwanda Francs)
Construction of a Livestock Animal sheds (Provided by another NGO)
400,000 Frw
Support to 10 women living for Micro-economic activities 250,000 Frw
Suport to one orphan in college (tuition & scholastics) 100,000 Frw
Purchase of the needed seeds (maize & beans) 40,000 Frw
Labor expenses for cultivation 35,000 Frw
TOTAL
825,000 FRW
The Exchange Rate was at: US$ 1 = 550FRW.
REPORTED IMPACT SO FAR:
That the orphan belonging to one of the women, supported in the college
was able to complete the first year of her college. She is now in the
second year, and certainly still needs some assistance.
That the livestock close to 5 graded cows given to these women by
another NGO, had no support budget to build their sheds, and to maintain
them. It is due to this support that the animals are now able to produce
milk which has greatly helped both in cash income and nutritional
support especially to the women who are living with HIV/AIDS.
Due to the micro-economic support given to 10 women living with
HIV/AIDS, their lives have turned around, and are much better.
If more substancial support is rendered, it will go a long way to
transform the lives of these women who are already busy doing some
meaningful initiatives, have a purpose, and now have a clearer
direction, due to the support given.
